This is not a government website. PM Kisan Status IN is an independent information site and is not part of PM-KISAN. The portal of the scheme is pmkisan.gov.in. That link opens in a new window, and the portal’s own rules apply once you are there.
The short answer
Since 5 November 2026 this site uses Google Analytics to count visits and the pages that are read. Google’s script runs on every page and keeps two cookies for this site, called _ga and _ga_SXL8SL59M8. The code of this site sets no cookie of its own, and Google AdSense is switched off, so there are no advertising cookies. If you use the language button at the bottom right of the page, your language choice is kept with localStorage, and for the languages that Google Translate provides, a cookie called googtrans is also set. The sections below explain each item, and “How to manage cookies in your browser” shows how to stop them.
What cookies and localStorage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. It can be sent back to the website, or to another company whose content is on the page, each time you load a page. localStorage is a similar place in your browser where a site can keep a small piece of information. It is not sent to a server by itself. Both stay on your own phone or computer, and you can delete them.

A consent choice, once it exists, will not identify you. We will not receive it, and we cannot read it from our side.
The language button
A round button at the bottom right of every page opens a list of languages. What it stores depends on what you choose.
- Hindi is the original text of the page. Choosing it stores nothing and removes any earlier choice.
- Roman Hindi (Hindi written in English letters) is made inside your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Your choice is kept in localStorage under the name pk-lang, so the next page opens the same way.
- The other languages are translated by Google Translate. Its script is loaded from Google only after you choose such a language and press the button that agrees to a short notice. After that, your choice is kept in localStorage (pk-lang), your agreement is kept in localStorage (pk-gt-ok), and a cookie called googtrans is set for this site. Like any cookie for this site, it is sent back to the site’s server with each page request, and we do not read or use it. Google receives the text of the page so that it can translate it, and your browser contacts Google’s servers. Google may set cookies of its own, and its own policies apply to what it does.
To stop, choose Hindi in the same list. The page then reloads in the original language and the cookie is removed. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser. A translation made by a machine can contain mistakes, so check dates, amounts and portal button names against the Hindi page and pmkisan.gov.in.
Search on this site
The search box runs inside your browser, from a list of page titles loaded with the page. It uses no cookie, and what you type is not sent anywhere. The Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
Ads are off, visitor counting is on
At present no ads are shown. Visitor counting with Google Analytics is running. We say this clearly because a page should never claim cookies that are not there, and should never hide cookies that are. When something changes, we will update this page and the Privacy Policy and record the change in Corrections and Updates.
Measurement cookies from Google Analytics
Google Analytics uses the cookies _ga and _ga_SXL8SL59M8 to count visits and to show which pages are read. Google’s script is loaded from Google’s servers on every page. It sends Google the page you opened, the time, your browser and device type, the address you came from and your network address, as any website you visit would receive them. Its reports tell us about groups of visitors (how many, which pages, which device, roughly which region), not about named people. We do not use it to show ads, and we do not connect it to anything you type, because this site has no place to type anything. The Privacy Policy says more. There is no consent box for it at present. If you do not want to be counted, block cookies or the script as described under “How to manage cookies in your browser”, or use the opt-out browser add-on that Google offers for Google Analytics.

Advertising cookies from Google AdSense
If Google AdSense is approved and switched on, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies on this site. They can be used to show ads, to avoid showing you the same ad again and again, to measure how ads perform, and, where the law and Google’s rules allow it, to personalise ads. The names and lifetimes of these cookies are set by Google and can change, so we will list the current ones here before ads start.
Consent before ads load
Ads, when switched on, will load only after your consent where the law or Google’s rules require it. If you decline, they should not load. We will not hide a choice or make it hard to say no. If the law or Google’s rules ask for a consent choice for Google Analytics as well, we will add one and change this page.
How to manage cookies in your browser
You do not need our permission to delete or block cookies. Use your browser settings for this. The menu names differ from one browser to another, but the steps are similar.
- Open the settings of your browser. On a phone this is usually in the browser menu.
- Look for Privacy, Site settings or Browsing data.
- Choose to clear cookies and site data, either for all sites or for this site only.
- To block cookies, choose the option that blocks cookies in the same area.
Clearing site data would also remove the Google Analytics cookies, any consent choice and any language choice saved for this site. The next visit would then be counted as a new visitor. If a consent message is being shown at that time, it may ask you again. Blocking all cookies can stop some other sites from working properly. Our pages are written to be readable without any cookie.
Other sites you open from here
The only outside address we link to is the portal, pmkisan.gov.in. When you open it, you leave this site. We do not control what the portal stores in your browser, and this policy does not cover it. Please read the portal’s own policy pages if you want to know more. Google Translate is not a link: it is loaded only if you choose a language that needs it, as described above. Google Analytics is not a link either: its script is loaded from Google on every page, as described above.
Changes to this policy
We will change this policy before we switch on ads or add any other measurement tool, and we will update the date at the top. Each change is also recorded in the log on Corrections and Updates.
